John Deere 9530

Review

The John Deere 9530 is one of the largest and most powerful tractors in JD’s current range. The tractor weighs an astonishing amount, with a scale of 18, 153 kg (40, 020 lbs) with the dual wheels attached. This huge machine needs a lot of power to pull heavy loads. This engine is a PowerTech Plus diesel that has an overall size of 13. 5 litres. This engine produces 475 hp thanks to the fact that the engine is turbocharged and has air-to-air after cooling, as well as exhaust gas recirculation. With such a big engine, you need a strong and robust transmission to get the power from the engine to the wheels. The JD 9530 uses a PowerShift transmission that provides the machine with 18 forward and 6 reverse gears.

The engine also powers the robust hydraulic system on the John Deere 9530. It is this hydraulic system that gives the rear hitch a maximum safe lift capacity of 6940 kg (15, 300 lbs). The rear hitch is a category 4/4N 3-point hitch. The fuel tank of the JD 9530 is very large, with a capacity for 1, 325 liters of diesel.

The John Deere 9530’s wheelbase measures in at an incredible 12′, but it still has a fairly reasonable minimum turning radius of 15′ when the brakes are off. With brakes, the turning radius is further reduced. As this tractor will mainly be used to pull quite heavy loads, it is important to ensure that it is kept balanced. That’s why you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of different ballast options available, most of which are attached to the wheels. If you have a very large farm that needs a powerful and reliable tractor to do a lot of pulling, then you may find the JD 9530 to be a very capable machine. Smaller models include the John Deere 9330 and John Deere 9430 tractors.
