Cub Cadet LTX1045

Review

The Cub Cadet LTX1045 lawn mower is powered by a Courage engine designed and built by Kohler. This engine is a cylinder that provides the LTX 1045 with 20 horsepower to drive the mower deck and wheels. The mower deck on this Cub Cadet mower has not one, but two blades. These are encased in a platform constructed of strong 12 gauge steel. The deck itself has 4 small wheels. Each of these wheels is located at each of the 4 outer corners. The purpose of the wheels is to keep the mower deck from scraping the dirt it is traveling over when the mower deck is on it’s lower ground.

The deck on the Cub Cadet LTX1045 has a 46-inch cutting width, though its overall width is much greater than this due to it’s large plastic dump flap located on the side of the deck. The deck can be lowered up to 1. 5 inches above the ground you are cutting and up to 4 inches above the ground you are cutting. This raising and lowering of the deck of the LTX 1045 mower is done manually. If you don’t want to simply dump grass clippings over the side of the mower deck, you can instead use a mulching kit that will thoroughly chop up the grass and help it rot faster, returning its nutrients to the soil.

The Cub Cadet LTX1045 is incredibly versatile. While many people buy it solely for lawn mowing, many different attachments can be attached to it for other jobs as well. A snow blower can be added to the front during winter, while the LX 1045 can also be fitted with different types of carts, sprayers, spreaders, blades, rollers and aerators. If you’re looking for a smaller machine, you might be interested in the Cub Cadet LTX1042 or Cub Cadet LX1040 mowers.
