Craftsman Professional 52; 24hp Zero Turn Lawnmower

Review

The Craftsman Professional 52″ 24 HP Zero Turn Mower is the largest zero turn mower available from Craftsman. The engine that drives the zero turn mower is a Briggs and Stratton model which supplies the mower deck and wheels with enough power to handle even particularly long grass. The engine uses a cartridge air filter to clean dust and particulate matter from the air intake before it enters the combustion chambers. The motor is started by a 12 volt battery. The operator controls the 52-inch zero-turn mower using the 2 turn bars in front of it to move forward and reverse, as well as execute zero-radius turns.

Control each rear wheel independently. This is thanks to the ZT 2800 Hydro-Gear dual hydrostatic transmission that gives the right lap bar control over the right rear wheel and the left lap bar control over the left rear wheel. The Craftsman 24hp Zero Turn Mower is big at 381kg. Most of this weight is carried by the rear wheels which means they are the largest, each measuring 20×10-10 (20-inch diameter, 10-inch width, 10-inch rim diameter). The front wheels are much smaller as there the main job is to just keep the mower deck elevated and stay slack so that the Craftsman zero turn mower can turn easily.

The mower deck on this Craftsman professional zero turn mower has a 52-inch width of cut as previously stated. This mower deck consists of 3 blades. As this mower is generally used by commercial contractors, most of them simply dump the clipped grass out the side of the mower deck. However, if you want to collect grass clippings, then you can purchase a rear bagger that has a 5 bushel capacity. A similarly sized riding mower is the Craftsman 28985 Professional Premium 54″ 30 HP.
