The Toro GT2300 riding mower is the most powerful machine in the GT2000 series of Toro riding lawn tractors. The engine that powers it is huge compared to virtually any other brand of lawn tractor. It’s a Kohler Courage model. This two-cylinder gasoline engine is an OHV model and uses a fully pressurized lubrication system to keep the engine running smoothly without excessive wear or seizing. The engine has a whopping 26 horsepower. The motor is started by a 12 volt battery. Power from the engine is transferred to the wheels thanks to a Hydro-Gear hydrostatic transmission. This transmission gives the GT 2300 a top speed of 10. 3 km/h in forward gear, while in reverse its top speed is 4 km/h.
The Toro GT2300 mower incorporates KeyChoice technology, which forces the operator to choose whether or not to engage the mower deck when reversing for safety. The front tires on the GT 2300 each measure 16×6. 5 (16-inch diameter, 6. 5-inch wide). The rear wheels are much larger, each measuring 23×9. 5 (23 inches in diameter, 9. 5 inches wide). There are a number of mower decks that are compatible with this mower, the largest of which has a 54-inch cutting width and houses 3 blades. Even though the Toro GT 2300 is such a large riding mower, it has a fairly reasonable minimum turning radius of just 21 inches. In addition to being a fantastic large mower, you can also use it in the winter with a 42-inch snow blower or 46-inch snow blade to clear snow.
When you buy the new GT 2300 it comes with a 2-year limited warranty. Just be sure to check with your dealer to see what it covers. The less powerful models in the Toro GT2000 series are the Toro GT2100 and the Toro GT2200.
