Cub Cadet SLT1550

Review

The Cub Cadet SLT1550 Lawn Tractor is a slightly smaller version of the Cub Cadet SLT1554 Lawn Tractor. The mower deck on the SLT 1550 is 50 inches wide. This housing has 3 blades inside it and also has a series of small plastic anti-flaking wheels attached to the rim of the mower deck to prevent them from snagging and cutting through the grass as you roll over it. To get rid of grass clippings from the mower deck, you can choose to either dump it off the side of the deck and let it rot on the lawn, or use a mulching system. The most time consuming option is to purchase a rear bagger to collect grass clippings.

The engine that powers the mower deck (as well as the wheels) on the Cub Cadet SLT1550 is Kohler’s Courage SV730 model. This engine has 2 cylinders and a total displacement of 0. 725 liters. The maximum engine power in the SLT 1550 is 25 hp. The engine is started with a key-start transmission that uses a 12-volt battery to supply the engine with 235 cold cranking amps. The 12 volt battery is recharged by a 15 amp alternator once the engine is running. The battery is also responsible for powering the headlights of the SLT1550 mower.

The engine drives the rear wheels of the Cub Cadet SLT1550 riding mower. These are larger than the front wheels, measuring 22×9. 5-12 (22-inch diameter, 9. 5-inch width, 12-inch rim diameter). The front wheels that steer the SLT 1550 each measure 15×6-6 (15-inch diameter, 6-inch wide, 6-inch rim diameter). The maximum speed at which the mower can travel is 8. 4 km/h forward.
