There are actually 3 different versions of the Cub Cadet LTX1046 mower. Each differs only by engine size. Each mower has the same 46-inch deck but a different engine. The first engine is the one that powers the normal LTX 1046 mower. This is a very powerful 23 hp Courage type engine that has been designed and built by Kohler. The Cub Cadet LTX1046M has a slightly less powerful engine. It’s also a Kohler Courage engine, but it only makes 22bhp. The least powerful of the 3 is the Cub Cadet LTX1046KW. The engine in this mower produces only 20 HP and is also designed and manufactured by Kohler. All the mowers are automatic thanks to a hydrostatic transmission that gives them infinite gears both when moving forward and when reversing. The maximum speed of this mower is 8. 4 km/h.
As previously stated, the Cub Cadet LTX1046 has a mower deck with a 46-inch cutting width. This mower deck is cleverly constructed, preventing any flaking from the grass you are mowing by adding 4 wheels, one on each of the outer edges of the mower deck. The deck of the mower is different from many other brand mowers in that it does not have a single large blade to cut the grass. Instead it has 2 smaller blades. The mower deck is adjustable in 0. 25-inch increments from 1. 5 – 4 inches above the ground.
If the Cub Cadet LTX1046 is too big of a mower for you, then you should consider the Cub Cadet LTX1042 or Cub Cadet LTX1045 which have smaller decks and less powerful engines. Fortunately, the LTX 1046 mower makes it quick and easy to attach and detach the mower deck. You can also use a snowplow attachment, as well as many other accessories to help you with garden chores.
If you own (or have previously owned) any of the 3 types of Cub Cadet LTX1046 mowers, then feel free to leave a comment below to let people know what to expect from owning one. Don’t forget to mention your likes and dislikes, as well as any mods you’ve made or accessories you use with it.
