Craftsman GT6000

Review

The Craftsman GT6000 garden tractor mower is a large and very powerful machine. The machine is incredibly similar to the likes of the Craftsman GT5000 lawn tractor. This is because they both have the same 26-horsepower power output as well as the same 54-inch mower-rated deck. The GT 6000 uses a very large gasoline engine. It is a Kohler Pro Courage model that has a displacement of 0. 725 liters. Overheating is prevented by an air cooling system. This twin-cylinder model uses a fully pressurized lubrication system to keep it lubricated throughout operation. As already mentioned, its total power is 26 CV. The mower’s fuel tank can hold up to 15. 1 liters of gasoline.

This energy is then transferred to the wheels on the Craftsman GT6000. This is done with a hydrostatic transmission that gives the GT 6000 infinite speeds going forward and in reverse as well. Its speed is controlled by a pedal and its top speed is 12. 1 kph (7. 5 mph). The rear wheels that the motor drives measure 23×10. 5-8 (23-inch diameter, 10. 5-inch width, 8-inch rim diameter), while the front wheels that are responsible for steering the mower each measure 16×6. 5-6 (16″ diameter, 6. 5″ width, 6″ rim diameter).

The mower deck on the Craftsman GT6000 has a 54-inch cutting width, as previously mentioned. This deck is made of 12 gauge steel and inside it there are 3 blades in total. In total, there are 12 different cutting heights for this mower deck so that you can always get the height you want. There are a number of features on this mower that add to its overall functionality. These include things like cruise control, as well as an hour meter so you can accurately gauge the next time you need to maintain it.

This machine does everything I have asked of it. I have 2 1/4 acres with some hilly terrain and using the mulching feature it mows the grass leaving a golf course like finish. I bought it new in a box and the only problem I had was that in the first 25 hours of use it started to leak oil from the head gasket. Sears sent his mobile mechanic to my house and replaced the engine gasket. I have never used a drop of oil since, and I work pretty hard. It does what it is designed to do and more. Yes, I could use a bigger tractor when I need to remove a tree stump or two. It has a great turning radius for getting into tight spots, and sometimes the cruise control comes in handy. I plan on getting a sleeve hitch and tail blade for it. I still have the original tires and use chains on it. Good tractor for the money.
