The Toro Z Master Z589 zero-turn mower gets its power from a 29hp Kawasaki direct injection engine. This engine runs on gasoline and is air-cooled. The engine gets its gasoline from a large fuel tank that has a capacity of up to 45. 4 liters (12 US gallons). The engine transfers power to the wheels of the Z 589 Z-Master mower through a dual hydrostatic drive system consisting of Hydro-Gear pumps and motors. This system makes the Z589 automatic, with power and steering controlled by dual comfort-grip levers positioned in front of the driver. The mower’s top speed forwards is up to 18 km/h, while reverse is not as fast, reaching only 10. 1 km/h.
The Kawasaki engine in the Toro Z Master Z589 zero-turn mower also drives the mower deck, transferring power through an aramid fiber belt. The blades rotate at a maximum speed of 18, 500 ft/min. The blades have been made from 1/4″ think steel and are housed within a Turbo Force deck which is made from 7 gauge steel. On the front of the mower deck you will notice 6 small plastic anti-scaling wheelsthat help prevent the deck from scratching the floor. The Z 589 mower has 2 types of deck. The smallest has a 60-inch width of cut, while the largest has a 72-inch width of cut.
The Toro Z Master Z589 Zero-Turn Mower comes standard with a Roll Bar (ROPS) to help protect the operator should the mower tip over. It also has a retractable seat belt to keep you secure in the operator’s seat.
