Snapper ZT2142

Review

The Snapper ZT2142 Zero-Turn Mower is the more powerful of the 2 models in the Snapper 150Z Series of Zero-Turn Mowers. It is powered by a Briggs and Stratton Professional Series engine. This single-cylinder engine produces 21 hp. The engine is started by a 12-volt battery that supplies 340 cold cranking amps to the engine. The engine transfers power to the wheels by first passing through a Hydro Gear EZT transmission. It is a hydrostatic transmission that provides the ZT 2142 with infinite gears both forward and reverse. The maximum speed of the mower is 8. 9 km/h.

The engine is fed by a gasoline tank with a capacity for 11. 4 liters of gasoline. The speed of the Snapper ZT2142 is controlled by rack brakes. The rear tires on the ZT 2142 measure 18×8. 5-8 (18-inch diameter, 8. 5-inch width, 8-inch rim diameter), while the front wheels measure 11×4-4 (11-inchdiameter, 4-inch width, 4-inch rim diameter). You’ll notice that the front tires are absolutely tiny compared to the rear due to the fact that they do little more than keep the mower deck off the ground. The rear wheels are responsible for both the direction and the speed of the zero-turn mower. The speed of the rear wheels is controlled by the lap bars located in front of the driver.

The cutting width of the deck on the Snapper ZT2142 mower is 42 inches. Most other brands with mower decks this wide usually have 2 or 3 blades. However this one has only one big blade. This blade can be adjusted up and down from a minimum of 1. 5 inches above the ground to 3. 75 inches above the ground. The other model in the Snapper 150Z series of zero turn mowers is the Snapper ZT18533, although it is not as powerful as the Snapper ZT2142 mower.
