John Deere GT275

Review

The John Deere GT275 mower is the larger version of the John Deere GT262 mower. It is a larger machine that was built in Wisconsin in the mid-1990s, from 1994 until production ended in 1998. It is powered by a Kawasaki FV540V gasoline engine. This engine provides 17 hp to both the wheels and the mower deck. Specifically, power gets to the wheels via a hydrostatic transmission that gives the JD GT275 infinite gears going forward as well as infinite gears for when it’s reversing. In other words, this John Deere mower is automatic and doesn’t need to change gear to accelerate or brake.

The engine of the John Deere GT275 is started with a key. The deck on the JD GT275 mower has a 48-inch cutting width, making the machine ideal for anyone with a large yard (1-4 acres) or professional contractors and landscapers. People often forget that most JD mowers have more than one use. Obviously mowing the lawn is a priority, but it can also be used in conjunction with many different attachments for other jobs around your garden or patio. A John Deere snow thrower attachment can be added, as well as a front blade for clearing snow, debris or even leaves. An optional accessory can be added to the rear to collect freshly cut grass. But scarifiers, harrows, utility carts and many other implements can also be attached to it.

If you own (or have owned) a John Deere GT275 lawn mower, please leave a comment below and let everyone know more about it and what to expect from owning one. Please include things like the pros, cons, and modifications (if any) you have made. Of particular interest to most people is any problems you may have had when you were using it.
