John Deere 818

Review

The John Deere 818 tractor is a fairly small and relatively unknown machine. It was built in Getafe, Spain. The engine that powers it is made by Perkins. It is a liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder diesel engine. The maximum engine power is 58. 8 hp. The engine uses a paper type air filter to prevent dust and other particles from entering the engine along with the air intake. The driver controls the speed of the tractor through a gearbox that provides the JD 818 with 12 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds.

The John Deere 818 tractor sits on a 4X2 2WD chassis. The engine drives the hydraulic system which, in turn, drives the rear hitch (category 1) to which many implements can be attached.
