John Deere 4610

Review

The John Deere 4610 Compact Utility Tractor is one of the largest in the series, which also includes tractors such as the John Deere 4410 and John Deere 4510. The only machine in the series that is larger and more powerful is the John Deere 4710 tractor. The JD 4610 appeared as a replacement (updated model) for the John Deere 4600 compact utility tractor. The engine that powers it is a Yanmar 4TNE84. It is a 4-cylinder engine that is kept cool by a liquid cooling system. The engine has 4 cylinders and is diesel. The total displacement of the engine is 2 liters. It shoots at a compression ratio of 18:1. The engine is started by a 12-volt battery that supplies 690 cold cranking amps. When the engine is running, it recharges the battery through a 40-amp alternator.

The John Deere 4610 allows you to choose between 3 different gearboxes. The best option for most people is the eHydro transmission. It is a hydrostatic transmission (in 3 ranges: high, medium and low) that requires a minimum gear change. Instead, simply use the eTouch pedals to accelerate or brake. The second option is a partially synchronized transmission that provides the JD 4610 with 9 forward and 3 reverse speeds. The latest transmission option is a PowrReverser transmission that provides the tractor with 12 speeds in both forward and reverse.

The John Deere 4610 can accommodate a wide range of implements thanks to a center PTO that can handle a mowing deck up to 72 inches wide, as well as a rear PTO that drives a wide range of implements, from backhoes to plows. The rear hitch is a Category 1 model with a maximum lift capacity of 2, 500 lbs. The JD 4610 has power steering and uses wet disc brakes to slow it down.
