Cub Cadet SLTX1054

Review

The Cub Cadet SLTX1054 lawn mower is one of the most powerful lawn tractors in the Cub Cadet 1000 series. It has a huge two-cylinder Courage engine that needs a constant oil level of 1. 9 liters. This engine that has been manufactured by Kohler has a power of 26 CV that rotates the blades of the 54-inch deck with ease. The wheels get their power from a hydrostatic transmission which makes the SLTX 1054 automatic, which means there’s no annoying stick shifter you have to use to change gears. Instead, you simply press the pedal harder to accelerate and release it to slow down. The top speed of this Cub Cadet mower is 8. 4 km/h, making it quite nimble when needed. Models smaller than this include the Cub Cadet LTX1050 Tractor Mower and the Cub Cadet SLTX1050 Ride On Mower.

The Cub Cadet SLTX1054 mower weighs 257 kg. This weight is transferred to the ground via the large turf tires which prevent large ridges from forming in the turf when the SLTX 1054 drives over them. Each rear tire measures 22×9. 5 (22-inch diameter, 9. 5-inch wide) while each front wheel measures 16×6. 5 (16-inch diameter, 6. 5-inch wide). Without any attachments the mower is 1. 75m (69in) but this will obviously increase depending on which attachments are attached.

Cub Cadet has a long tradition of building quality machines that they are proud to stand behind. The Cub Cadet SLTX1054 is no different and that’s why it comes with a 5 year or 500 working hour (whichever comes first) limited warranty to all who purchase an SLTX 1054.

bought a sltx1054vt and transmission failed 1 month out of warranty… dealer refused to fix it… called cub cadet and they finally agreed they had transmission issues and agreed to provide it to me if I paid laborIt only took them 2 months to fix it. I also have to change the spindles every 2 years… the mower is serviced at every outing… I don’t know which is worse… the dealer doesn’t care or the product is bad

I have my SLTX1054 for 4 years and all I have had to do is change one of the plastic pulleys through which the deck elevator cable passes. The cable got out of the pulley and stretched it on the one hand. I had to change the cover transmission strap after my son passed over a large diameter tree branch and blocked the blades, which smoked the belt. If it hadn’t been for the branch, I think the belt would have lasted for at least a couple more years. I bought an extra game of blades and changed them a couple of times every season to keep them sharp or if I hit something like a large tree branch … my patio is 3 1/2 acres with a ditch in the front. The ditch has a fairly pronounced angle. Although it is assumed that one should not be on the side of such a pronounced slope, I do it and the Cub does not seem to import it. If you keep the sharp blades, cut through anything. Like any other spectacisped that I have had. I use it to pull a cash scratch to level my entrance path that is about 350 feet long. Also shot of a 4 8-inch roller without problems. I dedicate about 3 hours every time the grass short. If I get 15 years out of him without important editions, I will call him a success.

I also hate mine. And I will never buy another Cub Cadet product.

My Cadet SLTX 1054 of 2011 was disappointing from day one. Do not cut the grass well and you have to go slowly. The maximum speed even without the launched cutter has always been slow. Trying to pamper the cuts drives you crazy.

Purchased in a local distributor. This was the second lawn tractor that I bought.(The first was a Simplicity and worked 11 years without problems.) The local distributor no longer sells Cub Cadet cadet. That should tell him something.

You get what you pay, but I still feel deceived. At five years and 300 hours it literally collapsed.

I will never buy another Cub Cadet product.
