Cub Cadet LT1042

Review

The Cub Cadet LT1042 Lawn Tractor is powered by a Kohler SV 590 Courage engine. This engine is gasoline and has a maximum power of 19 CV. This engine houses a single cylinder that has a total displacement of 0. 597 liters. The engine uses a standard type air filter to prevent dust and other particles from entering the combustion chamber and clogging it. The engine is started by a 12V battery that provides the engine with 190 cold cranking amps. This 12-volt battery also powers the incandescent headlights that come standard on the LT 1042. The battery is recharged by a 16-amp alternator.

The Kohler Courage SV590 drives the rear wheels of the Cub Cadet LT1042 by transmitting power through a Hydro-Gear transmission that makes it automatic. This means that your speed is controlled via an accelerator pedal without having to worry about changing gears. The dry disc brakes that control the speed of the LT1042 are also foot operated.

The deck on the Cub Cadet LT1042 mower has a 42-inch cutting width, which you can tell from the name. This deck is fairly standard with a discharge opening protected by a plastic discharge chute on the right hand side of the mower deck. There is also the option of a mulching system, as well as a rear bagging attachment to collect clippings after they have been cut. There are a number of different models to the LT 1042 garden tractor mower from the same range which includes the larger Cub Cadet LT1050, Cub Cadet LT1046 and Cub Cadet LT1045 models as well as the smaller Cub Cadet LT1045 garden tractor mower. Cadet LT1040. Unfortunately the Cub Cadet LT 1042 mower is no longer produced by Cub Cadet.
