Husqvarna GTH2250

Review

The Husqvarna GTH2250 riding mower is a bit older than some of the other riding mowers listed and reviewed on this site. The engine that powers it is a Briggs and Stratton that pumps out an impressive 22 horsepower. This engine is powered by a 12 volt battery that supplies 240 cold cranking amps to the engine. The battery is recharged by a 16 amp alternator once the engine is running. The Briggs and Stratton GTH 2250 engine takes gasoline from a tank that can hold up to 13. 2 gallons. The engine is kept lubricated by a fully pressurized lubrication system that has a maximum capacity of holding up to 1. 9 liters of oil when an oil filter is used.

The Briggs and Stratton engine transfers power to the rear wheels of the Husqvarna GTH2250 via a hydrostatic transmission. This makes the lawn tractor automatic, with no need to change gear during operation. Simply use the accelerator pedal to accelerate or reverse. The GTH 2250’s top speed forwards is 9. 3 km/h, but it can only reach 3. 4 km/h in reverse. Similar models of Husqvarna lawn tractors are the Husqvarna YTH2246 and the Husqvarna GT2254.

The mower deck attached to the underside of the Husqvarna GTH2250 has a 50-inch cutting width and houses 3 blades. The blades are belt driven. The platform is raised and lowered using a spring-assisted manual lever from a height of 0. 5 inches above the ground to a height of 3. 5 inches above the ground. The GTH 2250 has small gauge wheels on the edge of the deck so it can follow the contours of the turf/ground without the risk of the blades ripping into the turf.
